WORKS        ABOUT        ︎
THE LESS I HAVE, THE LESS I NEED.

Isauro Huizar (Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. 1985). Currently lives and works in Mexico City. Attended the SOMA Educational Program. His work is inspired by ordinary life and by his daily routine. With a basis in these experiences he produces systems in order to reflect on and to understand what surrounds him. In his artistic practice he mainly explores the media of painting, sculpture, and, recently, writing and photography. As an extension of his practice he has carried out museographic projects for galleries and institutions, displaying his skills in spatial narratives, and he periodically teaches the workshops La superficie, el color y la forma (“Surface, Color, and Shape”) and Modos de presentar (“Modes of Presentation”) for non-profit foundations dedicated to introducing art to children and youth. He is currently represented by Galería Enrique Guerrero and is co-editor of AAF, a print magazine devoted to spatial themes. He maintains the online project muchascosas.org, which aims to circulate artists’ ideas related to their production, and the Instagram @abstractpaintingmexico, a personal exploration for learning about and circulating the work of painters based in Mexico.
